The Margate Driving School is run by Michael Stephenson. Like all of our instructors he chose to work in association with us for the quality support we provide both to him and our customers. We introduce pupils to instructors, but in return our instructors must perform to a very high standard.
Michael has run the Margate Driving school since early 2010. Michael is passionate about driving and vehicles in general. As such he takes his role within the Big Red L company very seriously and really cares about his pupils and their progress. If you learn to drive with the Margate driving school, you are not just taught to pass your test but to be a safe driver for life!

News from Big Red Driving
The Big Red L Company and The Big Red Fleet Company are always upto new things. Here are a few items about improving your driving that may interest you:
The Big Red L Company has been asked by B Safe Driving School if we would sub contract the MOD contract in Kent from them.They are based in Darlington and are seeking to build a good team of Kent based instructors over the next few weeks to help train 20 army personnel each week until September for the basic B (car) category.Please call us on 01303 279755 if you are an ADI interested in a very regular 40 hours per week.
We are pleased to welcome David Keynes to work alongside us in the Gravesend area. David is based in Greenhithe and says he is really looking forward to helping students gain the freedom of the roads quickly and efficiently.
Also just joining us in the Tonbridge / Sevenoaks area is Simon O'Connell who has been a driving instructor in the area for 5 years. He chose us as franchise partner simply because of our professionalism in all areas.
Here, close to head office in Folkestone, we now have, fresh from 3 years with the AA David Mastin and last but not least is Chris Whitehead who has been working as an associate trainer for several months; He finally decided we were a good bunch and took out one of our Gold franchises as did the others. Finally we would like to thank Dave Burton for his hard work over the last few years and wish him well with his new career. He is replaced by the exciting young protege - Rob Lyons.
A Maidstone secondary school has decided to offer everyone of it's successful students 3 hours (£66) of driving lessons as a reward for achievements at GCSE level.They can see the clear benefit of helping students develop their careers prospects. They currently have 65 students ear marked to receive the vouchers with a further 30 about to take exams.We'll update this item of news once we hear more from the school.
Mark Glover, one of our excellent Folkestone Driving Instructors has just come back with a zero fault driving test on Thursday 18th MarchThese are rarer than hens teeth!Well done Mark; We'll be expecting another one soon.
On 16th Feb 2010 Red Driving School and Red Instructor College were placed into administration with the aim of selling the company.We understand that many people who have paid money for ADI training will be feeling very nervous. At this time it is our understanding that they will honour their training commitments.The Big Red L Company has for many years been conducting 'rescue' packages for PDI's needing a little extra training support, we will continue to offer our expertise and have a range of options that can really help.
